Thre is a guy selling a charvel for a good price but I'm not sure what the model is and was wondering if you guys could help. Here is the description givin

22 fret red charvel guitar by jackson/charvel
bolt-on neck with rosewood fretboard and maple neck.jackson pickups with pickup switch for each pickup (not a toggle switch),sharktooth fret markers,licenced floyd rose floating trem.in pretty good condition.

It's a 6 digit serial number with Texas on the plate. I looked up that this could mean a jap guitar so I posted in this section.

Is it a model series guitar or a US or what?

1987/88 Model 4. Nice axe!

That would be an 87-88 Model 4a. It should have the JE1200 preamp electronics in it if it's all original.

It's Japanese. Going by the separate pickup switches and the sharkies, I'd say it's a Model 4.

Wouldn't it be a Mod 4M? He said it had a maple board.

EDIT: Oh wait, my bad. I thought he said it had a maple board, but he said maple neck.

thanks for the help guys, ye got it nailed down,
the guy didn't have any pics so i'm going to meet him and collect and pay for it in person.
