  • Pickguard replacement for 1A?

Where can I get a pickguard with a h/s/s configuration for my model 1a? Do most after market guards fit or is there a specific one to get so all holes match and such? Also should I change pots when adding a high powered ceramic humbucker in there?? Thanks!

Most aftermarket wont fit, as the Model series are Dinky bodies IIRC. I've never ordered from these people, But here is a site that may have what you want:

As for changing pots, I have no clue with that stuff :ROTF:

apart from a few exceptions (Model 88, 3DR, 5, 6, 7), the Models are all strat bodies.

The 1A has an 8 hole guard. I couldn't find one that quite matched, so I took the pickguard off it and down to a local guitar shop. And then spent 45 minutes digging through their big bin of pickguards, trying to find some that matched. In the end, I found an 11 hole guard that matched 6 holes on my old guard, so I had to drill a couple of holes for the ones that didn't quite match. I'm still only using 8 screws on it, and I don't think anyone particularly notices.
