  • New Guitar Day

I picked this up today. I've been wanting one since the 80's. Please let me know if you know what the engraved "2" means on the 18th fret. Also, what's the official color for this? It doesn't really look turd brown in person. At times it looks black, plum, or turd brown

In most cases, the stamped 2 means it was sold as a "second" which could mean a number of things like it was used in a school or it was damaged in some way. I've heard numerous reasons for it and there's no real specific area that they'll do this. I've seen them on the back of the headstock mostly.

Beautiful guitar, and a fantastic player as well. Love the necks on those
