    So,is it a 650 or 650 xl ?
    THANK´S AGAIN
The 650 Custom and 650XL are exactly the same guitar.
What he did, was apply an older logo (like on the model 6, the precursor to the 650XL/Custom) to the headstock when it was refinished.

I bet that could fool a lot of people, and had you not told us of it's background, we might be debating the logo on that guitar.

        You have a "Charvelstein" !
But seriously, it does look like it was possibly either one of the first 650xl's off the line, and they had to use up the old logos, or most likely it's this :

Note the headstock logo and the switch.
That's a 1989 catalog, but it's possible that the 1990 version would have it with the matching painted headstock, like yours.
My guess is that it's a Japanese market 650xl, or soloist, as they refer to it in the catalog.
Although very unlikely, PM me if you ever want to part with it.
I'd like to take a shot at fixing the neck on that.

See, that didnt take long at all. I got it from Australia, so Im guessing its some sort of foreign market deal. Thats a pretty cool pic in the catalog there.
