  • What was the stock humbucker in the Fusion Custom?

I have one coming soon from ebay and i'd like to know what was the stock humbucker in the Fusion Custom?

    Anyone know?

J90C is stock in a Fusion Deluxe. Look for Catalog scans on this site to be 100% certain if this is true for the Fusion Custom. The J90C sounds great BTW.

      High output perhaps?

Worth keeping or swap it out? I ask because ever other pup like the J-50 that I ever tried out was scrapped ASAP due to its lame sound.

I like it. But i also like the J50. But I also like a Duncan Distortion. I also like L500XLs.

Yes, high output and ceramic magnet.

I was wondering the same thing. The Fusion Custom I just got has an EMG 85 in the bridge, but I was thinking of getting the stock pickup to have it and check it out...

          Are they hard to find???

I believe the J80's were in the Model 3 and 3A's.

I have a Fusion Deluxe with the stock J90c. It's a great sounding pickup. Around here it's considered the cream of the crop for the Jackson made pickups. I pulled this guitar out just now to give it another listen. Through my PODxt and some scooped metal patches it sounds pretty good. It's pretty easy to get pinch harmonics to pop out with it. I had a j85 in my other fusion that sounded much darker, more mid heavy, I swaped that out for a L500XL, much more to my taste (my other two Jacksons have EMG81s to give you an idea where I'm coming from) I'd definately give it a chance before you swap it out.

All of the J-series Jackson pickups are great pickups. Not a lame one in the batch. The J 50s are more PAF like tonewise the J-90c is a great 80s metal pickup. The J-80 has a nice mellow fat tone. The J-80c is just like a Duncan distortion JMO.
The J-95 is a darkest sounding of the J-series pickups and the hardest one to find.

They're not that hard to find. Pretty common to see them on eBay, and sometimes one will float through the classifieds too.

I'm a big J-90c fan too. Great pick up for the type of tone I want. Of course, I'm a huge fan of the 80's.
