The 1988 catalog seems to indicate that all Charvel Models have a compound radius fretboard, 12"-16". Does the Model 7 have this as well? I eyeballed mine but I can't really tell. I ask this because none of the catalog scans actually include the Model 7. The reason this becomes an issue is because when I'm looking for replacement pickups, many have staggered polepieces to match the Fender radius.

Model 7 Fretboard Radius

I wonder about this myself. Just eyeballing mine, it seems like it has less of a flat radius at the heel end than my other Model series necks, so I was guessing that it might be a straight 12" rather than 12" - 16". The one guy who might know for sure would be Dave (Budman68). He has a few Model 7s and I think he may have radius gauges, too. Shoot him a PM. Tekky may know as well, but he isn't around much these days.

Thus spake Budman:
It's funny you mentioned this because when I got my first one, I thought it was a flatter radius but I think it must be an illusion because of the maple board. I've checked one of mine and it actually seems to be the compound radius but I don't think it's a 16R at the upper frets like they claim. It seems like it would be more like a 13-14 R.
Hope that helps-

Gave myself half a day off today & decided to put off my first beer for a few minutes to make up some rough cardboard radius gauges. 12", 14", & 16". On my Model 7 I'm getting 12" at the nut and the 14" seems to be the best fit at the 22nd fret, but it may be just a little less. It's definitely not 16", because there's clear daylight showing under each end of that gauge. Keep in mind, I cut the gauges by hand so they're not perfect, but my loose Model 2 neck checks out at 12" - 16", so I think they're pretty close.
