3DR Rebuild/Refin Help/Suggestions

Just bouhgt this 3dr body off EBay and it's a bit of a mess, the colour does look good in the flesh though. There is a crack right through from one of the neck screw holes to the edge which will need some attention. The neck pickup route has been gouged out with probably a screw driver to fit a hb in there. I would like to do something with this other than dumping it
Any ideas on what necks will fit, I have a no brand that I thought would do but it's no good. Will a strat neck fit maybe?
Do I keep the colour as is or do a refin?

Any of the 25.5" scale 22 fret Charvel 'Model' series necks would fit with no problem.

Did the Warmoth, Fender neck fit ok then, I like the look of that. Also I've just noticed from the rear shot of that EBay auction, this body I've got has been "slimmed down" a lot across the back of the heel. You can see it here in the original auction pics.

Yes, the Warmoth licensed Fender neck fit perfectly. Your auction mentions "someone got a little carried away with the sander". Shouldn't be too much of an issue for you.

Also, any 22 fret 25.5" scale charvel "toothpaste" logo neck or 22 fret 25.5" Jackson neck will work also. I have used both on model series bodies with perfect results.

to be honest, either would be good as it would be an improvment on this!

I wanted the maple myself but the price is already getting silly. Might get a maple strathead from axesrus for it but then I need to find a locking sytem from somewhere to go after the standard nut.

Both went way expensive! Forty five quid for the rosewood, fifty for the maple! The same guy is selling a model 3 for 150! I can now see why people split the guitars up!

I nearly went for the model 3, looks good for the money. The funny thing about the necks is the same guy bought both necks and a nice model 4 body and it turns out it's the same guy I got this 3dr body from.

So we've got 2 guys. One whose selling loads of bits of charvels, and another who seems to be buying them. Holy crap! I just had a quick look at his buying history. Lots of guitar parts and... Let's just say that we all have a right to be individuals, but I wouldn't like this guy as a babysitter
