  • $142.... wohoo!

Speed is the key. Was informed by a script agent of a new search result ("Jackson") up for sale on www.dba.dk. I logged in and saw a black Charvel 475 Deluxe marked as a "Jackson". Location: 180 km away, but close to where my brother lives. Price with hard case: $142! Early J/C imports are rarely up for sale here in Denmark and when they are, a 475 would be around $500! Phoned my brother: -Yes, I'll get it for you. Phoned the seller and he said: -Wow dude, I only just put up the add 12 minutes ago. Yeah, my Jackson is in good condition, your brother can collect. Phoned my brother again: -Go!
Later, my brother calls me up: -LOL, the dude was contacted by buyers a million times after your initial call, and now he knows he could have priced it higher.. but he was honest and sold me the guitar for the advertised price. GOOD SELLER!

The guitar is pretty nice, I've never expected the neck to be so thin and wide (that's okay) and the active electronics are amazingly versatile! Why this story? I dunno, just happy I guess!

And here is one for Ron:

Very cool Henrik! That was a no-brainer for sure!

I thought you didn't like the active electronics? Let me know if you'll keep the bridge pup or not!

EDIT: or did you find one already? I can't remember now, lol!

Yeah, I have it already...the red one. Didn't you see my thread? I think you even posted in it.

Does the bridge pickup (J50BC, right?) have an embossed Jackson logo?

Nope, just silk screen white printing on the flat pup covers. Are you looking for an embossed version? Tell me what you know about it..

Ok, then I don't want it anymore . Basically, the ones with silkscreened logos were made in Japan (or maybe some other asian country) and the ones with embossed logos were made in USA and are better. Some 475s had the US versions of J50BCs, some didn't. I have on J50BC USA on it's way...should be here on monday or tuesday .

BTW, does the tone control (the middle knob) also add more output to the sound when it's fully on? Mine on RR PRO does.
