What can you tell me about this?

Well this guy is offering me his Charvel on a trade for one of my Kramer 1984s. It looks badass as hell but I don't know anything about it. He says its a 92 M1 but I looked through the catalogs and couldnt find anything about it. I'm not too up to date on Jacksons and Charvels so any information you guys could have on this model would be appreciated. How are the trems on these? Is it bolt on or neck through? Whats the neck size? Anyone have one? Anyone hate these? Sorry for all the questions but I'm a Jackson/Charvel and this would be my first one. I thank you all in advance for your opinions and replies

Hmm...they stopped making the Model series in 89, so either his date is wrong or he's got the model name wrong. Your photo doesn't work.

Until then, check the logo. If it's written in the "toothpaste" script, it's not a Model series. If it has a logo shaped like a guitar, it's a Model. I don't really like the stock trems next to a real Floyd Rose.

If it is a Model 1 (vintage trem, single hum, single volume, maple board that came in black, white, red, blue that sells in the range of $250-$350), I don't think I'd want to do an equal swap giving up a Kramer 1984 Reissue (Floyd rose, single hum, single volume, maple board that came in black, white, red that sells in the range of $500-$600 used).

I think it's a parts mutt... The 5 way looks funky, extra mini-switch, pickup bezels were NEVER a Jackson/Charvel thing.

It appears you have a 1986 Kramer Stagemaster Custom. HSS layout, slanted hum, one volume, 3 on/off switches and a rhythm/lead bypass switch, kramer block inlay at the 24th fret.

Looks like he swapped a different trem than what was on it originally as the trem route is for a JT-590, and that trem baseplate is angled and it looks like the trem recess behind the trem was made larger because of the trem that weas replaced. Also not sure that model had chrome hardware as there were very few Charvels that had chrome (275 is the only one that comes to mind and a Fusion Deluxe)
