Was the model 2 the same as a 4 but with just the single bucker?

no. Different bridge. The early 4s had dots, but in 87/88 they had sharkies. The 4 also had a mini-toggle for each pickup and an onboard preamp

First year 2's and 4's had Kahler's. 1987 and 1988 they both had JT-6 trems.

Sweet guitars posted here! I really want a model 2 if it has the same neck.. I LOVE the neck on my 4s!! Did the 2 come in black cherry??
                      I prefer a jt6 over a fulcrum.

Unfortunately this is not correct/consistant. I've had 3 Model 4s (2 were Model 4a (with Sharks). I've also had 2 Model 2s and the necks were thinner than the 4's. I like the Model 4 necks MUCH better!

                        Nice guitars!

Yes, 2's are thinner, very thin.

model 2 and 3 necks are some of the thinnest out there.

agreed, the neck on my red 2 is the thinnest I've ever played. still very comfortable for me though and I have large hands.
