C'mon, haven't you guys ever seen a non-recessed Floyd before? It is surface mounted with a pull-up route. Best bridge config you can find, IMO.

Yeah, of course! just been a while...
I tend to agree with you. I really like the way a recessed cavity looks but when actually using the trem it makes life difficult for me, just awkard feeling a bit.

That's exactly the guitar I'm looking for. Haven't seen that many around these parts but I'm hoping I'll be able to find one that's not in terrible condition.

The 650xl is an amazing guitar. I still have mine that I bought new in 92. It's got an 88 serial number, so I'm thinking its an early one. It's one of those few guitars I have that i will never get rid of.
