All model series were made in Japan.

And the general historical background for them is that in 1986 the company began making Charvels in Japan and Jacksons continued to be made in the USA. This was the beginning of their overseas construction. Grover Jackson himself was integral in the selection of a Japanese plant and was very involved in the beginning.

Hi Henrik. This is a sad day, don't you think?

I'm honoured to be able to derail a thread, not even participating. Good job, folks

Welcome, zenridaz. The history of the Model series are spread out on this forum. I have a small bit of Model history on my site, but a more thorough overview of the Model series are in the works, later to be published on the site.

                        Henrik,
I will be looking forward to that myself. I have a very low serial numbered model 6 (C60005x) and would love to say hmm.. Gover Jackson did I final inspection of this guitar. Something to that effect. It even has prelogoed pickups.

Don't get your hopes up, Rich#6 I'm starting a new job in a week and usually things go really beserk when I do that. Like, no time for web updates or anything. JCF member msaint65 will be the driving force on the article, so kudos to him. Unfortunately... initially, this will be a bolt-on only thing.

                          EDIT: HEY! 4000 posts!
