Sarcasm gets me through the day!

It's a weird one, who knows what the little Asian chap did with the stickers.
From the little research I've done, there seem to be different fonts for the serial numbers as well, I've seen square ones, and ones like I have with the wibbly bits on the numbers.

As an example here's one currently on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=012

Notice the font is completely different to the one on mine.

As for value, do my guitars look like I buy them as investments!
Fwopping, you know you want to!

:ROTF: It was a double post. I took too long looking at the picture gallery so it logged me out.

Both of my neck thrus have the stickers like yours. They must have changed in the middle of the year and then changed back because mine are C60005X and C6006963.

OK so if yours was mint it would've been worth something someday.

shobet....I will send a good one or two pics to you. I cannot attach anything. Thanks alot for this, I look at hundreds of guitars on here. Now I want to scroll through and think...."damn that guitar looks like mine -no, no wait..that is mine and it is famous because it is on JCF!!"

Hey, shobet....does that USA strat look familiar (3rd link)? With the exception of the 2 point trem of course. The 5A is Black Cherry with an 81, and the USA Jackson is a 2000 model that I don't know the exact color of. I am guessing dark red pearl or just "something-pearl?"

Thanks man.....Get this, I bought the USA Jackson SL1 (it is dead mint) with the original case at a local pawn shop 2 weeks ago for $499.00 - Can you believe that. I almost shit myself. I had to stop and look in the case on the way home to make sure I was not dreaming. I sold a USA Jackson Sl2, an Alpine White Gibson Les Paul Custom, a Marshall half-stack, a few Jap Jacksons as well as a few acoustics last year to help fund a killer ski boat. The only one I missed was the Jackson. And now I have one back in better shape than the one I sold. I must say though that since I go the Charvel a week ago, it is the one I cannot put down. Unbelievable playability on these guitars - I think the Jacky might already be #2. No kidding......

Nice guitars, and very good score for the Soloist!
Has the trem. on the 5A been replaced or would that what I'm assuming is a lic. floyd be the original?

As for the strat, that's another odd one, it's a I serial number one that they only seem to have made in 89 and 90 for the export market. Well according to this site anyway. This is what it says "A limited number of these "I" series guitars were made in '89 and '90. They were made for the export market and have Made in USA stamped on the heel of the neck."
                        I've had her since new.

The trem on the 5A is a Schaller with the jackson logo, Which is I believe a JT-590 made in Germany and stock. I don't think the 5A came with JT-6 or Kahler. As for the strat, interesting details on that one. And another reason these forums are excellent- learning something everyday.

I have had 6 of the model 5 series 2 5As 2 5s and 2 5FXs and all had the JT-6 trems. My guess the Schaller floyd in this case is a replacement.Note the large stud bushings.
The left over 5FXs became the 550 XL Charvels at this point they back routed the trems and started using the Schaller trems.
The last 550XL I had was a 89 model but the serial number fell into the 88 range also had a Kahler Floyd style nut so maybe a transitional model.
The 5A in this post has the Jackson after the nut string lock.

I guess it was changed out. I do know that I really have only used OFR in the past but this thing holds tune and is solid. I am no expert at all but I would say this Schaller is an upgrade from the JT-6. And yes the lock is original Jackson
