I had offred up my 1986 Model 3 for trade in on a Floyd Rose Strat in an ebay auction run by a guitar dealer.
Here's the guitar I'm talking about, on the right:
here are some "facts" I got from the dealer:
"it's a 3A, the model 3 WAS a HARD TAIL and is worth a bit more... The 3A was a PLAIN JANE version with an import tremolo that they tagged with the Kahler name after Kahler went bankrupt... The tremolo is known for wearing out the knife edges which are SOFT steel, I have several old ones left over from customer guitar replacements."
I'll agree on the soft steel, but isn't a 3A a H-H configuration, and the 2500-series trem is actually US-made by Kahler before they went out of business? is there a hard-tail Model 3? Is this guy completely wrong?
