  • Charvel Model 2 I just FINALLY GOT!!

Well I knew it was a Basket Case,But it will be worth it when it is done. Well to start off IDK If I can Really identify if it is. Reason being,it is a Light body.second off it has house paint on it I NEED to strip, and on some parts, the factory paint is gone. The neck pocket has some kinda weird decal/label on it,I thought it was just "penciled" in,but the decal goes up and down and is kinda hard to read. Does any other Model 2's have that kinda decal??I would be super mad if the body was just some crappy guitar. The Pickup is a Seymour Duncan CCJ, I REALLY was hoping on the Stock Pickup Man this is gonna need help. Can anyone Paint this if I strip it??

I have seen some guitarts with a "sticker" or at least a piece of paper. Glued into the neck pocket. The ones i've seen looked like work orders. Although i don't recall seeing them on Jacksons or Charvels. And deffinately not on the Import ones. This may be interesting.

You can link to pics in the forum... you cannot upload.
You will have to host them elsewhere and post a link.

Back at ya! I did scrape alittle black off the neck pocket and it did say "NO-2" but it has that decal thing. If this helps on the series(Yes it is a 1986 Model)It is serial # 239000

                    Here are your pics.

Looks like a very abused 86 Model 2.
Originally came with a Jackson J90C pickup.
The thing you see in the neck pocket is a shim.
                    I wouldn't sweat it.
                    Definitely needs a refin.

Thanks alot for posting the pics.I just seen some writing on that shim and I started to think"Well Great" but what about the "NO-2" in the neckpocket? The only stuff I seen was like "2-2" etc? also can anyone point me to a person on the forum who can/will refinish this guitar in the Correct Black for me? I can strip the crappy finish that is on there now. I talked to a Body shop and I didnt like what their Tecnique was going to be. The neck isnt bad,no cracks and the Kahler Nut is fine except the flippy locks(Which I have NOS ones) and I have a new Charvel Knob. I need a J90C,the Truss Rod Cover,1 Black Strap Button with the screw, and new rear Cavity Covers(one is missing and the other one is scratched up bad) the Bridge screws, and the Bushings(That sits in the guitar, they are cross-threaded thanks to someone using the wrong thread pitch) and the Kahler Bridge needs some attention Mainly I am looking for a REALLY Good looking Player, and I see it in her.

It doesn't look like a Model 2 '86. The edges are way too rounded for a Model 2, '86. I have a an '86 Model 2 and there is a definite edge to the body.

The body of the guitar in your photo looks thinner also.
