  • Will "Model" series necks fit CX692 body and...

I found a Charvel CX692 body with the pickups still installed and working. I paid $35 for it, but I am wanting to know if a regular Model Series neck will fit the pocket without any mods. (I suck at anything like that) Also, can I put any type of "Floyd" style bridge on the posts? The original trem is not there, and now I see that it was some weird trem that I probably can't find. I'm hoping I didn't waste my $35, even though it wasn't much. Thanks for any info.

The neck will work fine as long as its the correct scale and number of frets. The trem, you are probably sol. Unless its some sort of floyd clone, like a bendmaster or jt-6 its more than likely the wb2 which is a terrible trem that falls apart and is non locking. If you block it it will be fine as just a bridge.Show us a pic of the top rout and I can tell you if its a wb2 rout. I actually had one of those and your previous owner did the right thing, in keeping the neck and ditching the rest.

Well, since I don't have the original neck, I'm not sure of the frets/scale. However, the guy who owned this actually used it and broke the neck. I found it in a shop behind the counter...guess I should have left it there. LOL
Anyway, I don't have a way to load pics, but the route is definitely not the same one as on my other "Model" series guitars with Floyds or JT6's. I was wondering if I could just put a JT6 on those posts...it does fit, but not sure if I could use it as a trem or just a stop tail with that weird route. Thanks for the info, btw.

Is there an actual recess rout shaped like a trem or just is it meant for a surface mount deal. Does this thing have a pickguard or is it rear loaded. Does it look like this?

If not, Im thinking it takes this trem

Hmmmm, no, mine doesn't look quite like that. It has no pickguard. (maybe I got a different model?) It has one hum and two singles. It does have the same knob setup and 5-way like that one. The route for the trem looks like something was sitting down inside it, but it is nowhere nearly big enough to take an entire Floyd trem recessed like that one. When I set a Floyd or JT6 on the posts, the body of the trem sits just above the body of the guitar, and the block does fit down inside the route. It doesn't look like there would be room to actually use the trem, at least not radically, without the block hitting wood. Does that make sense? Thanks man.

Yeah...that weird trem does look like the route...is that what came in it? I don't guess I can get one of those, huh? Any suggestions on what to do (besides throwing it out ) Should I just put a JT6 in there and block it? I'm trying to make some use of this thing. Also mine came with "Charvel" pickups. They probably sound like crap.
