should i change my pickups in my model 4?

i want to change the pick ups in my model 4 but am afraid too!!! lol it's in to nice of shape to be hacking into it. should i just leave it stock? or put more modern pick ups in it and what should i put in it? emg's? duncans?
i mostly play old school metallica, megadeath, etc....... or should i just look for a beater to hack up from ebay. my ole lady thinks i'm crazy because after evertime i'm done playing it i clean it all off with furniture polish and q-tips,lol she says i'm obssesive/compulsive and i said ya, I'm obssessed with charvels and i'm compulsive about buying them. lol

or should i just buy this beater ps-2 and put pups in it? I can get it fairly cheap $250 and keep my charvel stock, decisions decisions!!!

I put EMG's in my Model 4, an 85/SA/SA. I took out the JE-1200 midboost and the stock Jackson pickups. I never have cared for them.

As far as the PS-2, the Performer Series was the bottom of the line for Jackson at the time (mid to late 90's). $250.00 is about $125.00 too much for that guitar. Just replace the pickups in your Model 4.

Edit: As far as the old Metallica and Megadeth sounds, Duncans will do the job.
