  • Wanted To Cry

Around 91', I traded my 86' Model 4, and years later, I have learned to regret it. Been looking at them, on Evilbay, at times, and just sighing. So, last night, I had some time to kill, so I decided to browse the local GC. I just got done testdriving the Marshall Vintage Modern, when I turn around, and there a beautiful 86' Model 4, in black, same as my old one, staring me in the face. I approached the owner, and inquired about it. He asks "Oh, is THAT what it is? I never knew. I always wanted information about it.", so I told him a little bit, and told him my story. He's owned it, used, for about 8 years, and the interesting thing is, is that he bought it from the same guys as the same store I traded mine in at. It isn't the one and the same, cause I immediately looked for the headstock chip on the tip, that I accidentally gave mine. All stock, with a few extra dings, but same as mine, down to the color, and even the stock tweed case. Now, thanks to that little encounter, I'm GASsing to have my Model 4, as well as my 86' Model 6, back, more than ever. I know where the 6 is, but I can't convince the dude I sold it to, to let go of it. I just MAY have to pony up an offer he can't refuse.

    What does "Readed" mean?
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

No, this guy had just shown up AT GC, with his Model 4. He seemed pretty determined to keep it, and I wasn't gonna make any more of a pain in the ass than I already might've been to the guy, so I didn't really press the issue, I just told him that if he was selling, I was interested.

I just saw a nice white Model 4 at GC today. They wanted $499 for it, which I thought was a bit much, since it had no case and the body had some dings on it. The neck looked to be in good shape though.

this is why I will never sell my 86 Model 2 I bought new in the spring of 1987.

the few hundred bucks you get for them is not worth losing that amazing of an instrument. they just have mojo.

I regret letting go of my Model 6 a few months ago...

Hopefully something will replace it in the near future with the same logo on the headstock
