  • fretwire size on model series?

Does anyone know what size fretwire they used on the model series guitars? Not just jumbo but specifically like 6100 or 6105 fretwire.

    Rockwell C6/Brinell 171
    .118 x .114 x .51 x .37
    18% Nickel Silver.

I don't know what that translates into exactly, when it comes to "6000" designations though...

I think it is the two middle values: .114=width and .51=height.

I am not 100% sure... someone will correct me if I'm wrong

This page has the Dunlop dimensions:

So if they were .114 x .051, it looks like 6110 (.115 x .050) would be the closest match. Slightly wider than 6100 & not quite as tall. I never understood the fret dimensions listed in those catalogs, with 4 figures instead of just 2, plus it should be .051 rather than .51. Those would be some seriously tall frets!

Hey, I'm from Europe, so these figures mean jack sh*t to me
I always thought that the other figures described the other dimensions of the fretwire - like tang depth. But I'm guessing.

I think they called them medium jumbo.I always use 6100 when doing a model or any J/C guitar

Stray - do you do refret jobs? Or just on your own guitars?
