Just to let everyone know. I clean the pots with cleaner/lube and replaced the output jack and now everything is working great! No more pot crackle and very smooth movement. The buzzing is nearly gone now that I replaced the output jack. I think the only buzz left is a replacement switch that I put in about a month ago. I will be replaceing that one with an original one soon and hope that will get rid of the buzz completly.

Thanks again for all your help!

Glad it's on the mend, nice guitar. Lots of model owners here, as the years roll by you can see that if these guitars were made today you'd probably be in the $600-$1200 range depending on the model. It's nice (and rare) to see an original model owner who can attest to it's durablity, part replacement, etc..I put Dimarzios in both of mine and changed the trem on my M2 to a Kahler Killer. I also had my M2 scalloped and I'm thinking of having my M3a re-fretted with BIG frets so it's cool to see it un-modded. How have you liked the original pups?
Charvel 7308 (TMZ 008), Charvel Pro-mod (yellow), Jackson Soloist Custom (Yellow), Jackson SL2H-V Natural, Gibson LPS DB, Gibson LPS EB, Gibson LPCC C, Charvel Model 2 (scalloped), Jackson DK2M (white), Charvel Journeyman, Fender Classic Player 60's strat, Carvin C66, Musikraft strat mutt, Warmoth Strat mutt, Fender MIM Jazz bass, Epiphone Classical, Takamine parlor. Marshall 2203, Marshall JVM 210H, Splawn Nitro, Fender Supersonic 22, Line 6 AX2 212, Marshall 4X12.

I love these original pups!! I love the fact that they are as hot as they are. I can get almost any sound I want out of them with the right amp. I have a Johnson JT-50 combo that I modded, put in a box and use as a head connected to a vintage Marshal cab wired at 4ohms. Needless to say, it's pretty darn loud and very clean too. At times I wish I had a little more presence, but over all I'm really happy.

I never realized how cool these model series guitars were until I started seriously looking for a new guitar. Now, there were some that sounded a little nicer, and there were some that feel a little nicer, but none that sound and feel as nice as mine IMO.

The only thing I don't like about this guitar is the fact that it doesn't have a recessed trem. I've been learning some Vai and as you know you really need a good trem to hit some of those notes. But I've been faking it pretty good I think!

I've been trying to get a hold of another model 4 for my daughter for christmas, but they are going for a little more than I want to pay for a guitar off of ebay. So if any of you know.....
