Hi Guys
I picked up a DKMG in the summer and already owning a Dinky AR i thought this would be a brilliant upgrade...
In terms of the fretboard and quality of finish it certainly is but 6 months later im still picking up the old AR with the SeymourD JB in the bridge (i put that there) because it just sounds so much better for riffs.
This is very dissapointing. I expected the EMG's 81/85 etc to be wicked for killswitch engage type of music but i just cannot seem to get the smooth distortion with the DKMG that i can with my '92 Dinky. It feels like its a bass problem - the DKMG is so bright with hardly any bass.
Is this something anyone else has noticed/experienced.
Im tempted just to sell the DKMG and get another higher quality jackson with SD's in it.
Thanks in advance.
PS: My setup is a marshall valvestate 8080 with a hint of tube screamer on the input (just like AdamD :-)
