  • New Charvel Predator - PIC

Got it all setup and playing.

JB in the bridge, lil 59 in the neck, CTS pot, switchcraft switch and jack.

The trem is an old knockoff but it works a lot better than expected and intonated with little trouble.

All in all it's a great guitar, and I'm happy with the investment I put in it.

Please forgive the pic quality, I only have a 2 megapixel camera.

Looks just like mine, except for the 59 in the neck. Awesome guitars!

            Thanks for the comments guys!

It's still a work in progress.

I didnt wire up the center position on the switch as I havent decided how I want to use it yet, I may just keep it unwired so I can use it as a kill, it's pretty handy.

I used vintage cloth covered wire for all the wiring; it was left over from my LP wiring project, and I to me it appears to be much better quality than plastic covered wire from RS. Im not sure if it makes any difference tone wise, but the guitar is clear as a bell and grounded well so it makes ZERO noise. I was kinda pissed though when I finally got all the parts ready for assembly it turned out that the CTS pot was slightly too large for the hole so I had to dremel it, and then I found out that the shaft was too short so I had to order long shaft instead.

I had to do some dremeling to get the 59 in the neck, and its still a really tight fit. I was a little nervous about the dremeling at first but it came out great and you cant even see it even looking right at it.

It's an awesome guitar that has really blown me away; I didnt think I was going to like it as much as I do.

The guitar on the wall behind it is a '77 Ibanez LP custom copy, post lawsuit, and one of the last ones that retained the LP shape before IBZ switched to the performer shape. It's loaded with SD (JB/Jazz) pups and CTS electronics as well. It's definitely on par with any Epi or Gibby LP custom you could buy today.
