I found a model 1a in a pawn shop for a hundred dollars, and was wondering what ya'll thought of them and if you think thats a good deal. Thanks for any help.

Well I bought it. It's beat to shit, (well just the board, needs to be leveled) single coils are noisy, and I f,ing love it. Feels like your favorite pair of old jeans that your wife frowns at everytime you put on. Anyway gonna load a pearly gates in the bridge, paint it white with the black pick guard, quite posiibly put a maple strathead board on it. Thanks for the advise guys.

Alvine sweet Jake Strat. Is that a Warmoth neck? Where did you find a pickguard with slanted neck/middle? The only ones I have like that are on my older Ibanez Roadstars but they arent like typical Strat shaped pickguards. I actually like the pickups slanted too so I'd convert my strats to this type if I knew of a source to get those like on your Jaker.

Thanks! I'm actually not sure what brand of neck. There are no markings on it. The body is actually going to be painted white this weekend and I am having the headstock painted to match. I got the pickguard from eBay about 18 months ago. Got it pretty cheap, too, under $20.00 shipped I believe.
