  • Before and After 375

    Hope nobody freaks out but....

    Before

After: Dimarzio Super Distortion in bridge, scalloped last 4 frets, nice sticker! Picked it up cheap, wanted to have fun and try and learn some luthier skills.

Filled it in... only one pickup.... if I would of thought about it I would of only put the volume pot back in and filled in the tone pot.... I run it on 10 anyway.

Looks like a good job from here. I would have left off the tone control too, but hey, it still looks great.

Looks good. I'd replace the tone knob with a mini-toggle switch that could be used as a kill switch and could also act as a coil tap or out of phase selector.

How do you do that without marks(or is it seen in person?)

I just glued in a piece of scrap basswood from the underside (inside the routing on the back) then used wood filler (bondo for wood) to fill in the small gap and smooth it over. You would never know something use to be there. The secret is to have it spread out about 3 times the size of the hole your filling, so it fades out gradually.
