475's

Any opinions on the 475? What's the difference between the 375? I have a 375 that I've hacked (there's pics' floating around) and I really enjoy it. The local shop has a 475 that doesn't seem unreasonable in price (not sure if I can say how much(rules). I know ultimaltley it comes down to playability and if I like it but I don't want to overpay for something I would probably mod. Probably by filling in the two single coils and repainting. There is something about that toothpaste logo that screams cheesy to me and it's hard to get by that. no offense.

Possibly my favorite Charvel Import.
The necks are substantial, yet still thin, if that makes sense.
Active electronics, well you either dig that, or don't (I do).
I thought the toothpast logo was ghey for a long long time, but quickly learned to seek them out now... just because of how sweet they play.
There seems to be something about the Charvels of that era... something extra.
I know they upgraded the trems to the German Schallers, but there is something else.
Extra mojo perhaps hidden in the control route in back?

Differences:
375 DLX had an optional maple fretboard
475 DLX has a bound neck with sharkfin inlays
Pickups are different
-475: 2-J200 Stacked Humbuckers(single coil size), 1 J50BC Humbucker
-375: 2-J100 Single Coils, 1 J90C Humbucker
475 DLX has the JE1200 - 6db Mid Boost Active Preamp
475 DLX has a couple more color options.

The pickups in the 375 are cooler IMO: High output humbucker and real singlecoils.
The 475 has a nice pup/preamp package, but it's too tame for my taste. I had the same config in my M6.

Skully, it all comes down to the price. I personally adore my 475's, and would never alter them. However, if I came across one already modded at a decent price (read: cheap as F^*&) , then it's open season
