  • What might this neckplate belong to?

Its a Charvel, toothpaste logo. Found it at a GC today. $450. Seemed a bit steep.

are you suggesting that the neckplate isn't original?

it belongs to a Japanese Charvel. The contoured neck heel looks like it belongs to a Charvel too. Beyond that, can't tell much without more information.

Is it the style of the logo that annoys you? The Charvel neckplates never had the toothpaste logo as far as I know?

94-95 Is my guess because no FT Worth address.

No thing ANNOYS me. Just trying to ID the guitar. I should have taken more pics.

Its a H/S/S config w Tone and Volume and strat style picup selector. Also sharktooth inlays.

The neckplate belongs to a Charvel guitar, most likely mid 90s because of the absence of the Fort Worth address. The guitar is black with a maple neck.

What did you expect to get here?

Without seeing the rest of the guitar, $450 sounds like way too much.

You're asking us to identify the guitar by a picture of the neckplate?

For future reference, there is no way to identify a guitar by the serial number. (or neck plate)

How many frets does this guitar have?

That's because the San Dimas guitars were pretty much one-offs.

The imports were mass-produced. There wasn't much note-taking involved with them. However the sticky-thread at the top of this section should have told you that already.

HSS, volume and tone point to 375, unless there's an extra knob on that guitar he hasn't mentioned... The sharkfin neck with the script logo does point to a 475DLX, I'd like to hear more details of the guitar or see pictures before I jump to a conclusion. It's possible that the guitar is a mutt of somesort.

It could also be an overseas guitar model. Only the ones sold here had the fort worth address. Look at the Charvels for the Japanese market, they don't have the FW address. Definately need more info.

I have a 475DLX with that same plate. No Fort Worth address. I think that this was standard on the Contemporary (script-logo) series.
