Sad state of affairs, huh?

I would also "almost" kill to defend mine.
I would "almost kill" whoever decided to mod mine, if I ever
decided to sell it. They are out there, spike, just keep hunting.

On the scale, I would rate the Model 88 a 7 out of 10 of ultimate J/C's to
have. It's great, but it ain't the greatest!

Mine weighs in at around 8 lbs too, (bathroom scale). The serial is 0050 BTW. I do have to say, it takes a real douche to part out an 88, unless of course it's damaged or something. However the dude mentioned above parted out an absolute mint 88... The body literally had no dings whatsoever...... THAT is difficult to come by. I am really hoping Budman will read this and grace us with pictures of his (stunning) Model 88 and maybe toss up some pictures of his Avenger (never seen it, heard good things!!!) hint hint!!!!

There is the mindset, that if it was Made in Japan, it's not worth much.
That was the attitude when I accepted this one at my store, for essentially 250 dollars worth of gear. If I recall correctly, I got it, and the customer walked out with a Scholz Rockman, a Silvertone 2x12 amp, and an Arion effects pedal. He thought he did great, and I just ended up liking the Charvel enough to hold it back for myself.

They really are quite special and very limited in numbers.
I took me 5+ years to finally get one.I traded a Kramer Baretta II for my 88 at a guitar show.

here's my #0168. traded a nice fellow from ohio an old randall century head for it straight up. he had 10 guitars i could choose from: lynch esp's and usa fenders and such. this one stuck out right much. chrome body hardware and the OFR of course. i'm gonna call up old grover one day and get him to make me a replica haha

And it never EVER works by calling someone out.

Easy you two, Hey new guy! I apperciate your help but back off newb, I have been a member here long before most, before the server change and board moving to a newer server and lost all my post counts(not complaining).

If Cygnus X1 wants to ever sell , he can contact me as he knows I would be interested.
