Truss rod wrench size for 750XL?

I have a 7mm wrech, and it works for both my M6 and the 750.

7mm does not fit, I just got the part from Allparts today. 6MM is too small, 1/4" fits, but there is some slight play. Wow, now what??

6.5mm is just about the same as 1/4".

Any suggestions?

Dumb Q, is there some kind of gunk inside the hex?
Sometimes clear finish can get pretty hard, making the wrench not fit.

It's not a allen wrench hex head, It's a nut, the wrench goes around it not inside it.

Well it's 1/4 inch, 7 mm is too big, 6 mm too small, I even tried 15/64, just 1/64 under 1/4" and it was too big. I went to Sears and got a 6 point 1/4" combo wrench and it worked fine.
