But I have a question:...How do you keep the Original Floyd from slipping off the posts?
I've had this problem with two Charvels so far!
Did you change the posts that the Floyd rides on?
I just ordered some new ones from fretsonthenet.com that are suppose to work with an original Floyd, hope they work good with an older Ibanez Edge trem as well.

Nope. I still have the original posts in the guitar. I've never had a problem with the OFR slipping off the JT-6 posts.

Me too. I always put an OFR on the Model Series guitars with the original JT-6 posts. I never have a problem with them.

Well, the Rio Grande is really hot, so yes, it is like it is juicing.

Thanks. My brother-in-law paints bikes, so he does all my painting. The yellow is HOK. He really does a great job.

Dave's posts work like a charm. Just did the OFR swap on mine - on a red Model 2 nonetheless: http://www.jcfonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81299

I never even tried the original posts with the OFR since the fretsonthenet posts were a much tighter fit.

And to the OP: those are damn nice Charvels!

Update!, just received the Floyd posts from fretsonthenet.com
I'm looking to put both sets I purchased on two model 3A's that I'm going to have setup with original Floyds on each and have new electronics installed by my guitar tech this weekend! I'll report back on how well they work.
BTW ZZB, your red model 2 looks killer with the black Floyd and EMG. I'm going to evenually put an original black Ibanez Edge trem on my red model 2 and a Dimarzio pickup.

What DiMarzio are you going to use? The Tone Zone and Evolution sound great in the Basswood bodies.

Yes, I'm going to be useing a Tone Zone, I've had good luck in the past with the TZ in other guitars with locking Trems.

No problems whatsoever with Dave's posts. I did purchase new bushings too but since the posts fit so nicely into the existing ones I used those. Less work that way. Dave's posts fit much better than the worn original ones.

I have to admit I was very tempted to use the full set from Dave. The posts glide up and down the thread with a mere thought. (Strange how you can get a kick out of something like that. )

I did have to shave the Floyd route a bit. When I put the OFR in there was contact with the tremolo arm bushing and the side of the route. But I only had to file it down just a bit.

That trem arm bushing should have one side that is flat. I just turned the flat side toward the route and had to do no modification.

That's odd, the bushing on mine is perfectly round.
