  • New to the Board

Hey folks, just found the board today. I learned more about my guitar in the first 30 minutes than in the last 20 years. I bought a Candy Red Charvel Model 4 brand new in like 89 or 90. Since reading a few posts on here I have found out (correct me if I am wrong please) That it is a Model 4M, made in Japan in 1988. I have seen 1 more like it on this site but he had changed out one of the pickups. Like I have read in a lot of other posts there really aren't many guitars that play like the model series charvels. I bought this one, then a black 4A (i guess) a few years later which I let my older brother have due to the rosewood fingerboard. Well, I'll quit rambling, thanks for the info. I just noticed I can't post attachments. hmmm .... that kinda blows

Welcome aboard, Jeff! We can't post attachments here, but most of us just get a free pic hosting account at a site like photobucket.com. Then you can insert the link to the pic in your post and you're all set.

Like I said , I have played lots of guitars, even the 4A I bought, but none like this one.

                    Greetings Jeff!

Nice M4... I've had quite a few, and they have all rocked it large.
"Wow,... that was some of the hardest rockin ever. Hardest to listen too."

M4 won Guitar of the Year I think when they first came out? Never tried one, but they seem excellent players, judging from comments here. Remind me of the FEnder HM in looks, a tiny bit.

Jeffinbama, what is that red knob made from...?

                        The red knob

I replaced the volume pot and my old knob wouldn't fit on it. Plus it is kinda grippy so you can just use the back of your pinky for the up and down. Not to mention the "character" it adds. and i was too lazy to file the post on the pot down.
