Thanks for the offer... If i decide to take file to fretboard, you'll be the first to know!
The guitar i was thinking of doing is the 275 DLX which i started this thread with.... but, it really doesn't get used much, so i was thinking of selling it as I've got three projects on the go at the moment (a Tele, Les Paul and Gibson J50), which could do with a litttle more funding...

How about doing a 'How to'? I'm sure there's quite a few people on this forum who'd really enjoy reading about your scalloping job, and no doubt, quite a few who have been considering doing it but didn't have any reference to go on.

    Cheers.

I took an all maple squire neck and scalloped it. Only on the GBE side tho.

I find it less than functional on the EAD side, and more about concern for warping. . . But eff it. Squire.

I would do it again with my Old charvel neck if it was all maple, after I ordered a Warmouth replacement. I couldn't order a brand new neck and scallop it. ugh.

          Necro thread....

These angled Charvel 275 bridge pickups...Are they two single coils somehow wired together to make one really shit pickup? What I'm wondering is this: could the "Charvel" stamped one be left in-situ and disconnected, while something like a SD Hot Rails or JB Jr is fitted right next to it so it looks much the same overall but sounds great?

I got one of the later run 275's. Mine had a Takeuchi double locking and a slant hum dual blade in the bridge. I have seen the pickups on a few other early 90s era guitars, esp a couple of avengers, but I still don't know what it is. I thought maybe an early run BL pickup, but the blades are really big. I have the pickup, gave the guitar to my good friend for his birthday.

yea those 2 slanted pickups were not that great , I have the same guitar and I ended up liking the look of the 2 slanted pickups at the bridge just the tone as you mentioned when distorted was pretty meh... so i threw in some SD blackout single coils into mine , which have the option to be high output or lower output so I used one of the bridge coupled singles as a lower output next to a higher output. Pretty cool
