Thanks jimmer, they really don't work with the two sigle coils do they? Don't know who was the clever bloke who came up with that idea..

Going back to my question about the locking saddles (thanks nhspike), does anyone state-side know of anywhere I could mail order some from, 'cause i'm finding it impossible to get them in the UK. I've been looking to buy a second hand jackson/schaller to use, but i'm not having any luck.

I'm hoping to do the trem mod as cheeply as possible as the guitar didn't cost much, and I could do without spending on it at the moment, but would like it double locking.... gotta get some dive bombing out of my system... never had a guitar with a trem before believe it or not!

    Thanks..

I'm interested in doing the same trem mod to my Avenger. Or just replacing the entire trem since the knife-edges are showing some wear. Not sure what trem is a drop-in replacement though. I'll have to post pictures of the butcher work done to the slanted bridge pickup route by the previous owner, bleh. Then you can see how well you've done in comparison. LOL

I think they will, but not quite sure.

        Thanks.
Yep that looks like the exact same model trem I took saddles from to put on my 275 trem. Those trems usually go for alot less. Beware of kenvai though, if you have a problem, like missing parts, he won't want to hear from you!

Here's what my 275 looked like awhile ago with chrome bridge. It has nice chrome knobs and chrome roller string tree now.

GFS pickups, guitarfetish.com. Alnico Fatbody Oversized Polepiece Tele Neck Pickup, and Hot Lead Alnico Overwound Tele Bridge Pickup. I might try something different in bridge position but, I really like it combined with the neck pickup in series, and parallel. The neck pup I love esp. for clean sounds.

You're looking for a "Schaller Floyd Rose", also called "Floyd Rose II". That one will drop right in without any problems. However, there was also a single locking "Floyd Rose II" back in the early 90's (which probably is virtually the same trem as you already have on your Avenger). Beware of that. All the later IIs are double locking. The genuine Schallers should have "Made in Germany by Schaller" stamped on them, right by the trem arm socket.

Wolfy: That pickup cavity mod looks pro!
                Great work!

Wolfy, Rockinger has Schaller saddles & flat-rate shipping to the UK:

Webshop für E-Gitarren, Gitarrenteile, Gitarrenbaumaterial, Effektgeräte und mehr...

Saddles & screws will end up costing just a little less than I've seen used JT-590s go for, though.

                    That's great dg, cheers!

funny thing is that I bought a generic licenced floyd rose on ebay for 10GBP, and have used the saddles from that. They're a perfect fit and it all stays in tune really well now. BUT, I am a stickler for having everything just right, so i'm probably going to use Rockinger after all...

                    Thanks for the info.

Something else worth mentioning, since you'll be tightening & loosening your saddle mounting screws more than the average guy as you change saddles: be very careful not to over-tighten & strip the threads in the baseplate, as the J/C version of the Schaller baseplate just relies on threads in the soft pot-metal (which is just zinc, according to Henrik's site) instead of having hardened inserts like the Schaller Floyd has.

That's some nice work! I like the paint colour too.
Is that a Jackson pickup in the bridge position? Also, how did you go about scalloping the board? Round and flat files? It's a little unusual in that most scalloped board dont have a flat area in than where yours does... makes no difference either way as far as I can imagine, but how does it feel to play?

Hey thanks, The bridge pick up is a passive EMG-HZ, I thought I would try one of their passive pick ups cause all my other guitars have active EMG's. That was the first and only neck i've done. I talked to a luthier about what i wanted to do and he explained, Do what ever you want, take your time, and don't go over half of your fret board thickness, and leave enough meat for your frets. As for the feel of it. Its my favorite guitar to play! I get that question alot. I looks like it would be very rough and sharp to play, but its very comfortable. I did use many different files, Round to Flat, to half round. Are you thinking of scalloping a neck? P.S. You mentioned you liked the color, It is a wicked color in person. Its Automotive paint, $300.00 CAN a pint.

Well, i was considering doing the upper frets on a guitar, which i would imagine would only require round files due to the distance between frets in the upper register.
I like the flattend out look of your job, makes sense really..

Yeah, love the paint.. I'm in the middle of refinishing a Les Paul at the moment (The dreaded curing of lacquer waiting period!), so I can appriciate the quality on the finish you've done.

                              Good show!

Let me know if you need any advice, I did learn alot from the neck I did. Figured out some good tricks to marking the frets out and making the first cut so to speak. What kind of neck, and inlays?
