Well the Screamin dDemon is a vintage output pup designed for use with high gain amps. The JBJR would be louder in the neck than the Screamin demon. For anything from blues to metal versatility. I would use a Custom 5. Or a Full Shred in the bridge with a lil59 in neck and middle. Yes the same pup in both positions. But they will osund differant in each spot. And they will all balance well in volume and tone. OR a JB if ya want a bit hotter output than the Full Shred. But use a 250k pot for the volume. It warms up the JB very nicely.

An Invader with too much treble? Something must have been wrong with the pickup or your amp settings. They've got more low mids and bass.

No, it wouldn't. The Demon is 10k. The JB Jr. neck version is less than that. But even those numbers wouldn't necessarily equate to loudness compared to another pickup. They should balance just fine with each other, though.

Well yeah if ya use the neck JBjr. but who wants to do that?
I forgot thet make the neck JBjr now. I was reffering to the bridge version. Which is 16.09k vs the Demons 10.0k. And the neck position being louder than the bridge it would be out of balance in volume.

LOL. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. If they suck so bad, then why do people like them so much?

i had them for over two years. played them thru tons of amps solid state and tube amps, etc They were no good, they were flat sounding. hell the guitar store who did the replacement for the dimarzios usually takes the one pickups and electronics and gives a discount on the new pickups, electronic they put in. But even they didnt want them, So they gave them back to me and i gave them to my firend who probably still has them. He never put them in his guitars either, he used emg 81s neck and bridge in his gibson explorers and in his custom warmoth guitars he used carvin pickups. Jackson made great guitar and basses but pickups/electronics/bridges . They need to leave it to someone else.

Jackson has made some stinkers, but they do have good pickups too. The J90C for example.

Fair enough - everyone can't have the same taste in sound.

One thing I've noticed, is how I've "grown into" the Jackson pickup sound.
Compared to an equivalent Duncan (for instance), I think they sound a little "rawer". I used to prefer the Duncans big time, but grown to love the Jackson pups; the J-80C in particular.

If that your friend still has those and doesn' need them, I'd glady pay the shipping cost to get the "crappy" midboost .
