I've also had several Dinkys with that scallop, but as I recall, the Dinky was not made when the Fusion was made (aside from Custom Shop stuff), and even then I haven't seen any 80's CS Dinkys with the scallop; only into the 90s when they dropped the Fusion and went to the Dinky instead.

The Fusion was the first model to get the scallop, correct?

but you also recalled recently that Fusions weren't made until the mid-90s

my 550XL also has the scallop. Not a Dinky per se (more Soloist like, I guess, with it being neckthru), but comparable size, 25 1/2" scale & not a Fusion. Serial suggests it's an '89. Not sure when Fusions first appeared exactly.

I said fusion because of the 24 frets on a bolt-on toothpaste logoed charvel. i had one of those necks years ago and researched it after I sold it. awesome necks. I didn't even pay attention to the horn.

Although, in this case, that guitar appears to be a Fusion Custom.

Well seeing as were dealing with a Charvel here, a scallop horn is usually a dead giveway that at least the body is a Fusion.....

My Jackson PS-4 had a scallop.
And I had scallops with linguine for dinner last night.
Now I have to figure out the scale of my bathroom scale, since it seems to be running higher than it should.
            :/

Did all of the Fusions have the scallop, though?

Just measure the distance from the nut to the bridge. If it measures 24 3/4 inches. its a Fusion. If it measures 25 1/2 inches it's not a fusion. Simple enough and shoosh the debate on the scallop.

                  Nope.

The Jackson Fusion XL and the Fusion EX do not have scalloped lower horns. (Fusion pro as well? Can't tell from the picture I have)

The best indicators for script-logoed Charvels are the number of frets and neck construction. The only bolt-on Charvels with 24 frets are Fusions.

Well what other Charvels had scalloped horns?

the 550XL is the first to spring to mind, probably because it was mentioned earlier in this thread
