  • Painted pick-ups?

I just got a XL650 and the previous owner has painted the pick ups white to match the body, how can I remove the paint? I'm thinking paint stripper will damage the plastic covers!

Start with the most "forgiving" stripping thing you can and work up.

    Depends what paint they used.

Maybe try first some white spirit (probably won't do nothing) then maybe some acetone or nail polish remover. Then work up to stronger if needed.

You could always just sand off the paint maybe? Sand most of it off and then use chemicals to clean up/finish.

I used nail polish remover to remove the sparkly clear that was put on the pickups of an rr that I bought. Worked pretty good.
