I'm guessing these are no better than a current Jackson DK2 or DKMG?

I think they are much better guitars than the new ones.JMO
Really? I may just have to pick one up then. What would you say is better about them and what would be a reasonable price for one in good condition? Would it be far better to save for a Model 5 or 6?
Thanks!

It's a completely different bird than a 5 or 6, but a great guitar. I find bolt-ons & neckthroughs to be so different in feel & sound, I couldn't recommend one over the other. I like both, but some people have a very strong preference. Totally up to you as to which to buy.
I think its the quality of the older ones compared to the new ones that makes them better for me.The newer necks seem different. The model series necks are nice I like them a lot.
The 90's J/C's have such sweet necks and I like the J series pickups after they have aged a bit.
The price of a 90's Jackson professional or toothpaste logo Charvel is way under that of a new DK2 so thats a plus. The older J/C's have MOP sharks too not the gay black sharks or moto sharks.
