89 was a transition year. Looks like a transition nut on that guitar. My friend has a Model 6 from 89 with a Kahler floyd-style nut on it, but it looks different to this one.

It's definitely a Kahler nut, it says "Kahler, Made in USA, Pat. Pend." on it, and the locking part is behind the actual nut. Like I said before it's missing parts which is why it looks strange.

Thanks toejam, looks like I'll have to fork out for an OFR at Christmas. I'll have a look for bigger pickup rings, Rob. No can do with the pictures, I've snapped a couple of my phone but my computer's acting up so I can't get them on here. I'll try again later.

My 3dr has one of those kahler nuts. It works just as well as a fr nut. Mine is not chrome though.

Okay, I know this is blasphemy, but I'm in a real bind with money at the moment at the moment and I can't see myself doing anything with this, I just can't afford to with University to deal with.

So, how much do you think I could get for this, in its current state? I doubt I'll be able to get my £140 back considering how much of a mess it is.
