Model 6 or New Amp...

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new here and need some help. My birthday is coming around soon (Sept. 20) and I have $250. My best friend used to be endorsed by Charvel/Jackson and is trying to sell me his 1986 Model 6 for $500.00 -a steal. I don't know if I should go for the Charvel, or continue saving for a Marshall VM2466 Head. Any suggestions?

Depends on what you need more. A really good guitar or a really good amp or both. Most of us prefer both.

If you choose to save for the amp, post me your friends info and I will buy that Model 6

Haha!!! Nice try dude, but He's put it aside for me! -I have a Spider 3 75 watt, and a Gibson Sg Standard '07, but I've always wanted a Charvel with a Floyd!

Yeah, That's what I'm thinking...I love my amp and can get a Marshall later, a Charvel like this this doesn't always come around. -Thanks to jdr94!

Exactly what I was thinking! But I'll add this: Sell that Gibson to help fund the amp purchase!!

I likes it lots...

When I got it, the action was insanely low...too low for me. Just on the "if you touch it, the note'll sound" type action. So I raised it quite a bit.

In another thread a poster said the only thing about the 6 is that it has the three toggles...and not a 5way. I kind of miss the 5 way too, having learnt on a Strat guitar and used to flicking it around a lot.

That's why one day, someday, maybe I'll own a 650XL.

Cool, I have my action kind of high, but my SG is weird in that it has to high...stupid, who knows -maybe I will sell it, but I love the tone, still want that Charvel though!!! thanks guys!
