If its an 86 it should. Is it just me or is anyone else thinking since when is $500 for a model 6 a steal? Its an ok price but is it really a bargain?

I think so, because it is a custom -no shit- it has a floyd and an ebony fingerboard. came from the factory in San Dimas that way- I want to see the serial number because I did'n think Charvel made USA versions of their import series, but then again I've played it and my friend was endorsed so who knows...

I'd keep saving for a new amp. Spiders are, well, poor, and you already have a perfectly good guitar. Like has been said, $500 isn't a spectacular deal, and I think your mate is bullshitting you if he says it's a USA Custom model 6.
          Why so serious?

That's true, It could be fake, although it looks like a real Charvel, but I'm sure that the neck isn't Ebony, but I don't know man, I think I'm still going for a Charvel, if it is fake, I'll get a So-Cal or Style 1, but probably never speak to my bud again!

Did research, can't find anything about a Model 6 being built in San Dimas...starting to doubt...Maybe he's confused about the model, but he's the one that was endorsed. From what I remember when I saw it was: Original small Charvel logo -JT-6 Floyd -Neck Binding with Sharkfins -S-S-H pickup configuration -EMG's (modded) -3 Knobs and 3 small switches -Neck-Through -Pointy Headstock -Charvel Serial # Stamped in neck -Original Black Paint.

Well, I wouldn't go that far... if it's a Model 6, it's a good guitar, but I wouldn't buy it if he lied to you on principle. If you can get pictures and the serial number, I'm sure one of the guys here could ID it for you.

Cool, Thanks. If he's wrong I'm sure it's not his fault because he's been my pal for a LONG time and has helped me many times before. When I get it -probably in September, I'll definitely post pics and show the serial #.

Hah! Ok, just made me think "Woah, WTF!? "

Have you tried it out yet/first? It took me a while to get used to the raised bridge type design...(no recess for the floyd).

No model series was ever made in the US. If it is in fact a model 6, it's probably just a really dark rosewood board. The serial number should be stamped in the finger board at the last fret. The electronics layout you mentioned sounds just like a M6. But the possablitly of an ebony board adds a bit of confusion to it. It could've been upgraded in the Charvel factory from the Kahler to the floyd and the ebony board added along with it. But if it is indeed a M6 the seriel should start with a C if im not mistaken. It's been a while since i sold mine. and i still miss it.

Yeah, It was a little awkward, and a lot different then my SG, but once I got used to it it was awesome, and tons of fun to dive bomb.
