  • Help with guitar value

I am considering selling my Mod 7. Some unexpected bills have come up so something has to give.

Before I post it on the bay I wanted to see what a good price for it is. It is mint with only minor fret wear.

I have heard these are some what rare. So I have no idea where to set the price. Maybe I am wrong.

Thanks for any help. I called a friend at a pawn shop and of coarse he told me what its worth to pawn. Way to LOW to consider.

Probably 3-400 is what can expect to get out of it. Wouldnt hope for much more than that unless two people who want it get into a bidding war.

I think you can get $400 for that one on the bay, especially if you're patient. I paid $300 for my white one here on the board almost 3 years ago. I bet you'll get at least a couple of interested bidders for it. People really seem to dig the red ones, probably second only to the trans-finished ash ones.

I'd think $300 for a fast sale, and $400 pushing it, but times are tough, and it might be hard just pulling 3 bills. Only way to know is by trying.

That is a nice looking Model 7. Why do want to get rid of it?
            Just one more guitar!

No offense to you, Ben, but these kinds of threads border on violating the rules. I wonder why the mods let them go.

IMO theres nothing at all wrong with asking what a guitar is worth in regards to selling it. eBay costs money, and its better to know what to expect out of it then to list it too high and not sell... youre still stuck with the damn listing fees.

No offense taken. Yea I was concerned about that to. I tried to word it so it didnt sound like a sales pitch. I am just trying to do research on this guitar before selling it. Normally I would just do a google and ebay search and price it to the market. But it is hard just to find one of these for sale.

By all means if a mod feels the need to kill this thread then by all means do. I have been around awhile and do not want to loose my account.

This is a Jackson/Charvel forum. One of the many aspects of this discussion group is guitar value. IMHO, I see no problem with asking for opinions on worth. I've done it before and my birthday wasn't taken away. BTW, sweet guitar.
I still keep practicing though.... Mostly because I hate my neighbors.-MakeAJazzNoiseHere
