Well, I tried stripping it today. The stripper just kind of sat there. No blisteres. This has happened to me before where it just kind of does nothing and then suddenly stats blistering. But not this time. So I took some 40 grit paper to it and took off about a 2 inch square area before my arm fell off. I have stripped poly before, but the dudes in the factory seem to have sprayed about 800 coats of clear. I had huge mounds of powder white coming off just that 2 inch bit.
I'm fighting the urge to paint the neck. Maybe I'll leave the headstock back blank too. That would make it a bit easier to live with. I agree that the feel is amazing when it is not finished.
I was going to do a fabirc finish but now I am not so sure. I might have to source some pearl white. It just looks so classy, as rjohnstone's pic shows.
