  • Can you help me identify the model/year?

    Hello Everyone,

My 12 y/o has taken up shredding and saved up for this axe.

The serial number is 0902462, sorry the pictures are'nt great.

Jackson Pick Ups, Jackson Schaller Floyd Rose.

It has an R after the logo.

    Thanks for your help.

    It's a 1990 Charvel 650 Custom.
    Made in Japan.
    Great guitar and great choice.

        The year they were made.
I think the Custom got a full recessed route and the XL only had a partial pull up route.

Thank you very much. My son loves the guitar and i was glad he got something from that era. He/we paid $400.00 and it came with a Charvel case, from what I have read that sounds right?

Correct me if I'm wrong but that serial says 'C902462' which would make it an '89 built guitar. Making it a 650XL oui?

After closer inspection, you sir are correct.
For some reason I thought the route was fully recessed... making it a 90.
The fourth pic shows only a pull up route... so yes... it's an 89.
Thus making it a 650 XL.

As for the serial, the one listed in the original post started off with a 0... and you can't really see the leading 9 in any of the pics as there is a string running right over it. Looks like a 0 too my old eyes.
                Sue me.

                oui indeed.

Still a killer guitar for a great price.
