  • Charvel ID

Hi, long time lurker, first time poster.

Im pretty much still a n00b at the old charvels and jacksons but been looking for one for ages.

Finally found a seller with the perfect model for me but i would want to know more about this guitar.

He claims it is a Model 3DR. i dont have a serial # or any specs yet, but hes slow as hell in responding.

    Heres two pictures

could you please tell me everything you can about this guitar?

    Cheers!

    It's a 90/91 Charvel 475 Deluxe.

A 3DR ha a reverse headstock and dot inlays.

        It's a standard finish.

475 deluxe is worth more than a 3DR isnt it?

Depends on who you ask... 3DR's are harder to find.

finally do you think its worth spending 700 euro ($900) on this guitar?

generally could this model be considered something exquisite? does it have anything special about it?

                $900... no.
I'm not sure what the going rate for Japanese built Charvels in Europe are, but this is not worth $900 in any market.
They generally run for less than half that here in the states.

well europe is generally much more expensive, what would you consider the absolute maximum amount for this guitar, just so i could try and bargain with the guy as it appears in pristine condition.

700 Euro is definitely too high. I've had my eyes on that one as well, but he's just asking too much. I'd pay 400 for it, maybe 500 if I had bad GAS.

                      Hello Guy in Bruxelles !

First, you could check closed eBay auctions, but anyway - 700 Euros is way too high !

I bought a Charvel Fusion Custom for 350 and a Jackson Fusion Pro for 400 - both in pretty good condition ! And I remember a Desert Crackle 650XL, that sold for ~400 !

Of course, we (in EuroLand) pay higher prices for Jackson/Charvel imports, than the US-guys do - but not that high.

                      I'd step back !

thanks for the input guys! much appreciated.

yea well it sucks cuz i really like that model. guess i should just be patient then...

are there currently any board members selling nice golden era charvels or jacksons?

kinda off topic as well, im a caparison user, does anyone know how these compare to capas?

You will need to look in the classifieds section to see what other members are selling.

I'm going to sound like a dummy but how do you check closed auctions?
