Can someone give me any information on this? I'm thinking of buying it, but have no information at all on it.
Is it any good? How much is it worth? What are the pickups, trem etc like?
Looking through the catalog scans it looks like a Charvette 170? There's no trem arm with it, is it easy to find one to fit?
And yes, is it likely to be a piece of crappy plywood?
That's a JT-6, so it'll take an Ibanez push-in bar. Budman makes bars for these too, iirc. You could also replace it with a floyd bar & socket set with just a little bit of work to enlarge the hole in the baseplate. It's easy to do, and I think it makes a big improvement.
Thanks dg, Have been looking around here searching for some info and it seems these things are crap. This one looks pretty good to me, but I don't think it'd be worth it for me to buy it if it's as poor as posts on here suggest...
Yeah, I think for what it's probably going to go for (it's on UK ebay) it'd be worth it. But I already have a few guitars and don't really need another one if it's going to need pickup upgrades and stuff.
Och, it's gonnae be gone in half an hour and the bid just now is at £30. With postage at £15 I guess I'd have to pay around maybe £70 or £80 to get it. Not worth that, not to me anyway. If I never had any guitars it might be but I'm not about to spend another £100 on pickups for it.
It is a 170, but Rich is right that it's like a Fusion. Short scale & 24 frets. I don't know much about Charvettes, but I think I remember someone saying the ones with JT-6 trems might be solid wood.
I had a 89 150 that was basswood. Later I think those with the cheap thems became plywood.

I that is what I remember too.
Those are made in Korea though. Don't know who made them, but back then most korean guitars were made by cort. I'll take a cort guitar anyday!
