my problem with my JT-6 is that i dont really understand the big screws at the back, you can adjust the saddle height through them? can anybody give me a comprehensive guide on setting up low action a JT-6? and, there are actually chips already on the steel things that connects to the post on each side (shiny things in the pic below).

        Good info there.

If the knife edges are chipped, you can dress/sharpen them.
Otherwise, I would suggest a Schaller JT-590 replacement.
You can find those on e-bay, various parts suppliers on the net, or even here in the classified section.
The big screws at the back are fine tuners, so that once you tune up and lock the strings up by the headstock you can still adjust your tuning.
Center those prior to locking the strings, so you can adjust up & down.
I'm one of a few people around that actually likes the JT-6 trems.
They had some innovative features, and you never had to worry about bumping it out of tune with the heal of your right hand when you played.

Upon close inspection of your pics, I notice you are missing the locking blocks.
They go between the screw, and the string, and clamp the string in place.
          No wonder you hate it.

The large diameter knurled "screws" sticking out the back are the fine tuners. Give it a thorough clean up, some really light oil (like WD40), and it might be ok.
Those shiny parts are the knife edges.
Henrik (Jackson1) has an original JT6 user's guide at audiozone.dk.
Sorry, I don't have the exact link handy.

            Nice Charvy!

I mean the locking blocks for the saddles, on the trem itself.
                String clamping blocks.
Check the pictures on the link I gave you.

I used a jt580 cheaper made version of the takeuchi floyd on a non recessed guitar. (this goes for the jt590 too). The trem blocks are too short. I had to get a 42mm block on ebay to swap out or the springs would pop off . Yes the OFR block fit.

The Teckuchi will fit as far as the stud spacing. But the back rout might not. The contours of the teckuchi are more rounded and sloped compared to the more squared off look of the OFR and the Schaller. So if ya gotta gowith the teckuchi it might not fit exact. So be forewarned But there is nothign wrong with the JT6. I love the ones i have. Altho those string blocks can be a bitch to replace when they get lost.
