  • 650xl finishes

So I have a charvel 650xl in the blue sparkle finish, and I pretty much love it to death. I want to get another one in a different finish, does anyone know which finishes they made it in? They're a red sparkle one on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Charvel-Jackson-...QQcmdZViewItem
but that finish isnt really my thing...Did they make the 650xl in that burgundy sparkle finish i sometimes see on model series guitars?

Oh by the way does anyone happen to know what the fretboard radius on a 650xl is? whatever it is its awesome

The fretboard has a compound radius, from 12" at the nut to 16" at the 24th fret.

are you sure about the radius? my Caparison Dellinger is 13.45-15.35 and the charvel feels wayyyy flatter than it

Also, which do you think mine is? its a bright blue with sparkles...I'm guessing if that one on ebay is pearl red than mine is pearl blue and not metallic blue

There's always a possibility of some variance, since they weren't using CNC machines back then, and some of the work was done by hand. I'm pretty sure about the specs, though. Here's the '88 flyer explaining the concept & measurements of the compound radius on import Charvels:

Tons more info & all the catalogs are available here, thanks to our friend Henrik:
