  • Charvel 5A

I believe this is a 5A. I inherited this guitar from my uncle who passed 2 years ago.

Thank you for viewing my site. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, most of you know that my photos of music gear are quite professional. This was shot with a crappy p/s camera, AND my webmaster uploads my photos at a quite crappy resolution.

What hardware does this have? There's some issues with this one's hardware, and I'd love to "redo" it. I'd toyed with putting my usual Distortion/Jazz combo into it, but I think I'll just keep it original.

    Thanks!

PS sorry for not posting in awhile.

    Think that's just a "Model 5".
    2 hums
    Kahler Bridge
Might have a preamp booster (third knob) - not sure.

Overall, very nice fiddles. Enjoy it!

Yep. A Model 5A is just one humbucker.

Thank you for your help. Do you know the model number of the parts in it? (Yes, it has the PA booster in it).

It plays very nicely. I don't know why I always had such horrible things to say about Kahlers. This is a very nice bridge.

Yup. A Model 5A has one humbucker only. Depending on the year, they either came with Kahler or Jackson-branded Floyd-style tremolos.

I've still got mine from High School. The only thing not stock in it is the Seymour Duncan Heavy Metal Live Wires active pickup (which was on the guitar when I got it), but it's otherwise pretty much stock. They're some pretty good guitars.

Hi ya bro. I mucked around your site and came across what you 'used to own'...holy shit! Is that listing for real? You must have made a ton o $$$ if you sold off all that merchandise. From what I've read on your site, it appears that your life is pretty satisfying, congrats. Oh, give the kitties a little 'scritch' for my wife and I. :-)
Yesterday is history; tomorrow is a mystery; but today is a gift; that's why it is called the present.

The list also is missing approx. 100 listings and pictures. The thing of it is this, I bought low and sold high. I was very fortunate to own what I did. I don't make a lot of money in my trade. I am a painter for a nursing home. I made some money playing music, but for the most part I was just smart with my gear purchases.

It's a shame, quite a few of those guitars were swell, and I really wish that circumstances didn't make me sell them off. That Paul Reed Smith I had was outstanding. My stupid shoulder surgery, and knee surgery kept me off of work for 9 months out of two years, and that income hit was devastating.

I've been making some changes to my life, and eliminating a lot of the stressors. Just trying to pay down some bills, make good choices and hopefully make a good life through hard work for my wife and I.

I think I like these Model 5's more than the 6's mainly because of the blade switch instead of the mini switches.
