Charvel Model 1? Any info on these?

Sorry I've done some searches but can't find anything specifically on these - even Wikipedia says nothing.

I've been offered one at what seems a good price, but I really don't need another guitar - unless it's just too good to miss!

It's a Model 1 from 1988 apparently, with a Model 4 neck (no idea why it was changed).

How much would one of these be worth in the UK do you think? And, most importantly - are they very good?

From looking at catalog scans it's a Model 1A, seems to have been modded as it has a humbucker now.

Yep, with pics someone can tell you exactly what it is and I can only assume that the the neck was swapped because if it is a model 1, it came with a maple board and the 4 is rosewood.

If it looks like a Model 1A with a humbucker and a rosewood fretboard, it could be a Model 3.

All the Model series are good guitars, the Model 1 included.

I think i may have seen this on gumtree.Red model 1A body,modified scratchplate for humbucker.rosewood model 4 neck.

If it still had the model 1A maple neck i woulda tried to bag it but its a parts mutt so didnt interest me.

Well I changed... a lot on her. New saddle (graphtech), new nut (graphtech), pickguard (HSS, with new holes drilled so you can fit in standard Fender pickguards (though the neck pocket is slightly wider on the Charvie)). All Seymour Duncan Pickups Custom with A8 mag, Cool Rails, Quarter Pounder. I can wire this anyway you'd like too.
Beautiful flame in the neck.
Frets were levelled a year ago.

Looks like a Model 1A (notice the V-trem) with a swapped Model series neck and swapped pickguard. That's some nice flame on the back of that neck.
