And before anyone comments... I know it says "Made in USA"... it's my guitar so fuck it. It's still a Charvel. The original import serial is still there on the fretboard, so I'm not out to fool anyone if for some crazy reason I decide to sell it.
A Pile 'o parts...
A little smudgy I know... need to wipe it down before I take more pics.
This last pic best represents the amount of flake that is in this finish.
Need a good sunny day to truly capture this in a picture.
The only issue I had was a fucking screw head for one of the strap button stripped out. It was a long one and I ran out of pilot hole with an 1/8 inch of screw left. That is some hard ass Maple I'll tell ya.
Still need to actually wire it up. Still waiting on my copper shield tape to arrive before I do that.
I'm tired... 4 solid hours of assembly and my fingers hurt.
Enjoy... more pics and a sound sample in a few days.
Thank you again Mike... awesome fucking paint job bro... simply awesome.
Ugh, I need to change my underwear. That is simply friggin awesome and totally worth the wait. Totally unique and classy, but rocktastic if you know what I mean. I am so jealous. I'm gonna have to call Mike when I get some cash together. Nice work.
I let it sit over night all strung up and tuned to pitch and it needs a few tweaks.
I need to shim the nut just a bit as I have some rattle on the low E string.
It just barely clears the first fret, so that's an easy fix.
The fretboard is all oiled up now too. Really dark Rosewood, almost an Ebony look to it once I got the board cleaned up.
I need to intonate the thing too. I just eyeballed the OFR when I set it up. It was a brand new German made Floyd, so it was completely neutral. I should have taken measurements from the other Floyd I had on it before I sold it. It was dead on.
I've got it close, but needs a few tweaks. A tad sharp over all.
I'm still in awe at how cool this thing looks. My daughter wanted to lick it. She said it looks like a giant piece of candy.
