  • Charvel Rewiring

Hi, I am new to this forum and new to giutar playing. I bought a Charvel guitar and noticed the wiring is wacked out (Buzzing)? Can anyone help with a diagram, it has one humbucker, one single, 3 way switch, one tone and one volume. Thanks

Sounds like a grounding issue. Open up the back of the guitar. Does the buzzing stop if you put your finger on the back of the volume pot? If so, it's probably not connected to the bridge like it should be. Look for a wire going to the trem claw.

Also, check for cold solder joints (they'll look dingy and gray instead of shiny and silver).

+1 to grounding. If there is a steady hum, it could also be that the input jack wiring is not grounding properly. Those get twisted and get loose sometimes.

It does look like the ground is connected and it still buzzes when I put my finger on the volume pot. Also something I noticed is the tone pot does not work, but it is wired-up. Is there any diagram I can look at to see if it is wired correct. Thanks for the advice.
